One of my very first hair tutorials on my Bebexo youtube channel was a basic fishtail braid. Back then, there were barely any hair tutorials on youtube so that particular video managed to garnish over 1 million views within the first few months. These days, there are hundreds of fishtail braid tutorials so I wanted to bring back an oldie with a new twist.
I call this the Mermaid Fishtail braid because I borrowed the technique from the mermaid tail braid that I posted a few years back. With this braid, all you have to do is create two reverse fishtail braids and pin them together. Watch my step-by-step video tutorial below to see how it’s done.

I’ve seen many variations of this braid on pinterest and instagram and I’m sure there are many ways to get this look but I personally like this one because the braid looks neat and distinct.
